    Alexander Wood was born in London, United Kingdom in 1951. He became interested in art in his early teens, coincidentally the UK's iconic era known as the "Swinging 60s,"  a vibrant and youth driven scene in London. A phase in UK history known to be rich in cinema, music and art as post war frugality ceased and a new generation flourished. His work was influenced by this rich backdrop, as well as time at London College of Arts. He moved to Toronto, Canada in the late 70s. His influences include George Condo, Brian Gutenberg, Hundertwasser, and Jack Shabalt to name a few. He's displayed his work in competitions, and has a daily practice only comparable to an obsession to this day.
